Eid represents joy. It represents the quiet beauty of sharing. Yet, even within this season of celebration, there remain many children for whom the happiness of wearing new clothes is still an unfulfilled dream.
With the intention to reach those dreams and extend a hand of compassion, Tour de Force (TDF), the student organization of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management,at the University of Dhaka, organized a dedicated Eid Clothing Distribution Program. The initiative Signifies the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan and the values that define Eid-ul-Fitr.
On Tuesday, March 17, at 2:00 PM, the program took place in Kalunagar, Hazaribagh, where 103 underprivileged children were welcomed into a celebration designed with care and purpose. The guiding motto “Spread the joy of Eid, let every smile bloom” captured the essence of the initiative.
The program ensured that each child received new clothing for Eid. It also created space for joy through games, recreational activities, and friendly competitions, all intended to support emotional and social development. To complete the festive experience, noodles and traditional semai were served, which added warmth and familiarity to the occasion.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Muhammad Shoeb-ur-Rahman, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Dhaka and esteemed advisor of TDF. His presence amplified the importance of such initiatives and encouraged continued efforts in this direction.
The program brought together a strong collective from the TDF community. President Udoy Ghosh, former presidents, and students from various batches contributed to the successful execution of the event. The participation of THM alumni further strengthened the sense of unity and continuity within the organization.
TDF expresses sincere gratitude to respected seniors Saidul Bhai and Zahed Bhai (4th batch), Muna Apu and Sajib Bhai (7th batch), Tamanna Apu (8th batch), and Synthia Apu (6th batch). Their presence, despite demanding commitments, added depth and direction to the initiative. Their guidance played a vital role in shaping the program.
As shared by TDF representatives:
“Eid is a celebration of joy, and that joy finds its fulfillment when shared with others. This initiative was a humble effort for children who represent the future. Their smiles remain our greatest achievement.”
The program concluded with a clear message of social responsibility, compassion, and equity. It also served as a call for broader participation in such humanitarian efforts.
At its core, the initiative reaffirms a simple truth
the true beauty of Eid lies in bringing a smile to someone else’s face.
